And It's Not Just About Male-Bashing: Bashing Other Groups is Bad for Liberalism, Too

During the 2012 Presidential campaign, male-bashing wasn't the only popular pastime. Bashing Mormons was all the rage as well. Some liberals are even happy to shove Catholics and Mormons into political wars with each other, as I once pointed out on a forum (original source). As you can tell when you browse the link, when I first spoke up on this issue, one person outright said they don't care if the two groups fight, as long as it wins re-election for Obama.

Now that's just stupid. And evil. This kind of mentality is corrosive and should never be allowed to gain a foothold among liberals. I have no idea how many people feel this way, nor do I care about the numbers. One is bad enough. Mormon-bashing is an insult to all the liberal Mormons out there who voted for Obama and are registered Democrats to boot.

President Obama certainly never tried to tap into the toxic sectarian tensions between Catholics and Mormons just to make Catholics vote for him out of hate or fear. If he was ever asked what he wanted, he would certainly have said that he hoped liberal Catholics and Mormons found a common ground in their distaste for Romney.

In fact, there's only one group that is worthy of being hated - and that is the Plutocracy and their Conservative / Libertarian (read: ultra Conservative) minions.

Animosity toward any other group is simply a pointless, toxic distraction that harms the liberal cause.
